Puzzling news reported today that the New York Knicks have signed Raymond Felton. Reports from ESPN say the Knicks will complete a sign and trade deal with the Portland Trail Blazers. The deal will bring point guard Raymond Felton and Kurt Thomas to New York in exchange for Dan Gadzuric and Jard Jeffreies.

The deal now gives the New York Knicks two former starting point guards on their roster in Felton and Jason Kidd. Where does Jeremy Lin fit into their plans. Well, with an offer sheet from the Houston Rockets set to expire Tuesday night, pershaps Jeremy Lin is no longer in the New York Knicks future plans.

Houston Rockets Sign Jeremy Lin

Sources tell ESPN that Jeremy Lin has signed an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets, as expected. The new contract is reported to be $25 million for three years. The contract would break down as $5 million, $5.225 million, $14.8 million over the three years. 

The New York Knicks now have three days to match the offer signed by Lin and the Rockets, or Linsanity will leave New York. The large market team saw increases in attendance, merchandise, and television ratings when the undrafted Harvard University graduate became a star in the making.

If the New York Knicks match Jeremy Lin's contract offered by the Houston Rockets, it would give them four players all making over $14 million in the 2014-2015 season. Currently the Knicks have the following players signed for 2014-2015....

After entering a four team race, it appears that Marcus Camby is heading back to the New Yor Knicks. A deal is expected to be announced on Wednesday July 11th. The sign and trade was reached with the Houston Rockets, who still had Marcus Camby's rights. New York will send Toney Douglas, Jerome Jordan, and Josh Harrellson to Houston. Houston also receives the Knicks second round picks in the 2014 and 2015 NBA Drafts.

The Knicks will pay Camby $13.2 million over four years. Marcus Camby was a member of the New York Knicks for four years. He is expected to be the backup center to Tyson Chandler after once being the Knicks starting center.

Marcus Camby Exploring New York Knicks Homecoming

Marcus Camby is meeting with New York Knick team officials this weekend to discuss a possible move back to the Big Apple. The free agent center played four seasons for the New York Knicks from the 98-99 season through the 01-02 season.

Marcus Camby split time with the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets last year. Camby averaged 3.8 points and 8.9 rebound in 22 minutes per contest with the Trail Blazers. The defensive minded player saw 24 minutes a game with the Houston Rockets, where he averaged 7.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per contest.

The former number two pick overall brings a huge defensive presence to the Knicks if picked up. His addition would allow the New York Knicks to rest Tyson Chandler during games and place Camby at the 4 or 5 position to defend the paint. Marcus Camby won the Defensive Player of the Year for his efforst in the 2006-2007 season. Camby led the league in blocked shots during that season with a then career high 231 and 3.3 per contest. The following season Camby would swat away 285 shots. Camby has been named to the NBA's All Defensive Team four times.

Houston Rockets Trading Kyle Lowry to the Phoenix Suns

After losing Steve Nash to the Los Angeles Lakers, it appears the Phoenix Suns are putting their future in Kyle Lowry's hands. Kyle Lowry has reportly been traded to the Suns for a first round draft pick and forward Gary Forbes. Reports from Twitter say the deal is close to being done and the draft pick is protected, with additional details to come. The pick will not be too high for the Suns to give up and not low enough for the Houston Rockets to get a nice return in the end.

With the Houston Rockets trading away their starting point guard, are they suddenly confident they will land Jeremy Lin? After trading Lowry and losing Goran Dragic, the Rockets become thin at the guard position. If the Rockets don't land Lin, do they have a backup plan? The deal does free up over $5 million for the Houston Rockets next year, which could be used for other free agent targets. Reports from the Houston Chronicle are saying Jeremy Lin has been offered a contract. The newspaper says Jeremy Lin has been offered a four year deal from the Houston Rockets. For those not familiar with Lin's playing career, he actually worked out with the Rockets last year before being cut. Lin was waived by the Rockets so they could make room to sign Samuel Dalembert. Lin only played seven minutes during two Houston Rockets preseason games. Lin was let go because the Rockets had Jonny Flynn, Goran Dragic, and Kyle Lowry all signed to deals.
