Houston Rockets Trading Kyle Lowry to the Phoenix Suns

After losing Steve Nash to the Los Angeles Lakers, it appears the Phoenix Suns are putting their future in Kyle Lowry's hands. Kyle Lowry has reportly been traded to the Suns for a first round draft pick and forward Gary Forbes. Reports from Twitter say the deal is close to being done and the draft pick is protected, with additional details to come. The pick will not be too high for the Suns to give up and not low enough for the Houston Rockets to get a nice return in the end.

With the Houston Rockets trading away their starting point guard, are they suddenly confident they will land Jeremy Lin? After trading Lowry and losing Goran Dragic, the Rockets become thin at the guard position. If the Rockets don't land Lin, do they have a backup plan? The deal does free up over $5 million for the Houston Rockets next year, which could be used for other free agent targets. Trading away Kyle Lowry does leave the Rockets thin with tradeable assets if free agent targets disappear.
