Help Jeremy Lin Win an ESPN ESPY Award




Wednesday marks the beginning of NBA Free Agency signings. While many teams have come to agreements with players, nothing is offical until tomorrow. Sports channels will be covering the free agency deals extensively.

On Wednesday, we will likely hear that Jeremy Lin has offically signed...
an offer sheet with the Houston Rockets. The New York Knicks will then have a three day period to match the offer to retain Jeremy Lin. After watcing the free agency drama play out Wednesday morning and afternoon, you can tune into ESPN at 9pm to see if Jeremy Lin will take home an ESPY Award.

What does ESPY Award stand for? The ESPY Awards are reward to athletes as "Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Award". Started in 1993, the annual awards show is ESPN's answer to the Oscars.

Jeremy Lin finds himself nominated for a 2012 ESPY Award. Lin goes up against four other athletes in the Best Breakthrough Athlete category. The nominees are:

  • Anthony Davis - college basketball (Kentucky)
  • Robert Griffin III - college football (Baylor)
  • Rob Gronkowski - NFL (Patriots)
  • Jeremy Lin - NBA (Knicks)
  • Alex Morgan - soccer (USA)
